First, thinking about something is not the same as worry. Planning and thinking about outcomes are good things in deciding a direction, but WORRY just causes harm. Worrying is feeling uneasy or being overly concerned about a situation or problem. With excessive worrying, your mind and body go into overdrive as you constantly focus on “what might happen.”
WebMD states that excessive worring can cause problems in the body including; suppression of the immune system, digestive disorders, muscle tension, short-term memory loss, premature coronary artery disease, and heart attack. Worry does not keep bad things from happening. Worrying does not change the outcomes. Worrying is just harmful to you and others around you. There is an old adage that you “get what you fear the most.” We can actually change our behavior because of fear and worry so that we push people away. If you are a chronic worrier then seek someone to help you learn how to overcome it. If you catch yourself worrying stop and tell yourself that it is not productive and do something to relax and stay healthy. <>< Mark
